Nearby there is a lovely, mainly shingle, beach in a bay backed by cliffs that offers a wonderful spot to spend the day.
If you feel active, there are plenty of rock pools to explore and rock climbing to be done! Wonderful coastal walks go East or West from Porthleven, with the famous Loe Bar – the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall – being a real highlight. For experienced surfers, Porthleven is famous for its reef break.
Not for the faint hearted though! Other activities in the area include local boat trips, fishing trips and kayaking, all from Porthleven harbour, as well as an active artistic scene for the more creative minded visitors.
Due to the strict conservation measures Porthleven in Cornwall remains an unspoilt, working harbour that attracts visitors who want to get away from it all and be inspired by the surroundings and the way of life.
