My family and I ate at Fire on the last night of a two week holiday in Mawgan Porth, sadly we didn't discover this restaurant sooner, we had a fantastic evening with wonderful food and excellent service. We can highly recomend the Goan fish curry. Our only regret is that we didn't discover sooner.

We were 7 people 4 adults and 3 girls who got a table at the last minute on 10/08/09. The food was fantastic ,seafood linguini, chicken kebabs, home made pizza for the girls and fantastic deserts. The staff were friendly and gave us an excellent service.Everything was home made and fresh. The cheese platter was excellent , my husband would love to have a glass of port next time we are there with his cheese, but the red wine he had instead was superb.
What a gem, it is worth a trip back to Cornwall from Essex just to eat here. We had a lovely evening and would highly recommend this restaurant. Many thanks from The Rix and Chinery Families.

We have recently returned from an Easter break at the Merrymoor Inn, Mawgan porth near Newquay and had a fabulous time there , I would highly recommend this friendly and comfortable hotel ,the food is out of this world and plenty to choose from on the extensive menu. The views from the lounge are second to none and very hard to beat anywhere in the world.
There is always a warm welcome from the staff and it is very animal friendly as well. The weather was not at its best over the Easter break, but we still had a great time at this lovely hotel , I would highly recommend it to anyone .

We have been in this pub a great many times and have always felt most welcome. The food has always been excellent and the Sunday carvery is very special!! Make sure you book a table though as it gets extremely busy. This has to be our favorite pub especially during the winter.

My family and i spent a week in mawgan Porth over the october half term. Discovered FIRE on the Saturady and appeared to spend more time there than in our accomodation. Liz and her crew (Alex, Tom, Gav, byroney and Smidge)were a great crowd. The place has a warm welcome feel and the food is fantastic.(sunday lunch is awsome!)Would definatley recomend a visit to anyone.

What a great end to a great holiday in mawgan porth. Popped in on thurs lunch to have a look. Not only did we book a table for the evening but my wife bought the picture on the wall!! 6 of us (4 kids aged 2,7,10,12) went in the evening. WOW the food was fantastic - 3 kids empty plate(2 year old struggled with amount but was satisfied). Service was great. Food was superb(FRESH fish). Deserts out of this world. Thank you for a great end!!!!

Great food and great service..my family and I ate at this resturant and would thoroughly recommend it. The decor is a little bare but a varied and extensive menu meant that all tastes were catered for and the food was outstanding in both presentation and taste. Service was also very friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't see the sunset over Mawgan Porth beach!!

Anyone who comes to the area should definately eat here, try the burgers they are fab and not the usual sort you get in every other restaurant, so succulent and tasty! Also have a go with the bucket of mussels, lovely! The service is great with one particularly gregarious waitress who makes dining here all the more fun!

Being teachers and loving Cornwall we always stay at the Merrymoor Inn whenever there is a half term. We have always been made to feel welcome and the service is second to none. The quality of the food and the service is excellent together with the range of local ales!!!. All tastes are catered for and nothing is too much trouble for the proprieters. The view is second to none. I would always recommend the Merrymoor to anyone. But plaese check with us first just in case we cannot get booked in!!!!

As regular diners at the Merrymoor we can heartily recommend the very high standards attained at all times. The fare at first impression can appear to be a little plain but don't be fooled! - the standard is always very high, very well presented and always represents great value. The staff are all exceeding friendly and helpful and go out of their way to please all. Whether you are local or a holidaymaker the same warm welcome is guaranteed all the year round. The carvery on a Sunday lunchtime is a treat not to be missed!
