Family Friendly:
We have travel cots which we will happily make up for no charge. Although we are delighted to see children of any age, we would want you to be aware before staying that the walls between bedrooms are thin and crying babies can be heard in neighbouring rooms. For anyone staying in one of our camp or sofa beds, including children of 5+, we charge £25 per night which includes breakfast and the camp bed.
Parking:
Lots of on site parking in own customer car park
Accommodation:
Our approach to the bedrooms is based soundly on a maxim often forgotten by hotels: that a night’s sleep will only be as good as the bed itself. So we source only the best Vi-Spring beds. It is no coincidence that our visitors’ books and inbox are full of requests for their details. Our bedrooms are about melting into one of the books that lie around the building, listening to a Radio 4 play on the Roberts radio or staring out to the sea or to the sheep flecked moorsSome guests are even are sufficiently hypnotised to wait for the hooved shuffle of the cows on their twice-daily amble to and from milking.
Capacity:
60
Wine List:
The Gurnard's wine list is said to be the best Pub Wine List in the country by the Roederer/Imbibe Wine List of the Year panel which includes Hamish Anderson. Hurrah.
Functions:
Our priority is to provide a refuge from the modern world for our local customers and regular guests. However, The Gurnard’s Head remains a spectacular site for wedding or other parties and we are occasionally persuaded to host them. For a tailor-made quote, please contact
Recommendations:
Recognition comes ultimately from guests but, for what it’s worth, we've been included in The Good Food and Good Hotel Guides, Hardens and Michelin since opening, as well as many travel and food websites. - The 2012 Good Pub Guide thinks The Gurnard's is The Best Cornish Dining Pub for the third time in five years. Recognition by one of the best of the independent guides.
Menu Summary:
Our menu is not long. Never more than 7 or so starters or main courses. All driven by what our suppliers bring to our back door. Fish from day boats, greenery from small growers. Plenty for non fish or meat eaters. We will change the menu every day. If you are staying for more than a couple of days and have a particular fish or seafood that you would like to eat, please do let us know.
Vegetarian Options:
We think vegetarian food can be great food. Cornwall's larder is a great opportunity to cook great food for those who don't want to eat meat or fish. Our aim to to make the numerous vegetarian items on our menu so good that carnivores and pescivores will want to choose them. Have a look.... We can also cater for coeliacs and those on gluten free diets, but do ask that we are advised of any dietary requirements when a booking is made.
