Host, Phil Heslip, is local and has helped breathe new life into this St Mawes institution, taking the pub back to its traditional roots to show its character once again.
The food is the star attraction with plenty of options from seafood (lobsters usually are taken in from the front door for all to see) to steaks and home made curries. A worthwhile stop while in one of Cornwall's prettiest towns.

"As well as serving food downstairs in the bar area, the Victory Inn also has a more formal restaurant upstairs that connects to a recently completed outside terrace with excellent views across the St Mawes bay.
The restaurant takes advantage of the local fishermen and offer fresh fish dishes that change almost daily, from whole sole and bass fillets to whole lobster!
The range of wines on offer are all hand picked and the variety is excellent, as well, of course locally brewed ales.
The restaurant is also available for private functions and parties.
Throughout the Summer a Seafood Tapas is served betwen 2.30 and 6.00 p.m.
