Review this restaurant

Proprietor: Dale Prins

Head Chef: Chris Lanyon

The Golden Lion is a real community pub where downstairs in the snug the locals huddle into the wee hours and sup good Cornish Ale.

The food here is plentiful and familiar with great takes on Ploughman's, dressed crab and steak and chips.

Upstairs a new dining room is modern and casual with great views of the ocean, downstairs the pub is as it should be brimming with folks who enjoy a pint, a chat and a good bit of grub. Proper job!

Further Details

At the hear of the Port Isaac the Golden Lion is a real old fashioned public house with something for everyone.

On the top floor the recently renovated Restaurant offers contemporary dining with pale wood floors, chunky furniture and views of the harbour.

The main entrance floor is unfussy and is casual and friendly where you're cheek to jowl with fishermen and local folk, TV cameramen and tourists who are just stopping for a Crab sandwich and a pint of ale.

Downstairs the room lowers, and harkens to the old days of the Smuggler with a secret passage clearly visible to escape his majesty's forces. Here, in the Bones Bar, the convivial atmosphere is local and is for lovers of a good pint and a bit of banter late into the night with music on Friday evenings and at the weekends.

A great spot day or night at affordable prices.
