CAPTAIN`S Fish Bar and Licensed Restaurant in Daniel Place, Penzance, was first converted to a Fish Bar and Coffee Shop in 1958,and last year celebrated 50 successfull years in April as a Fish and Chip restaurant.

The then owner, Mr. Fred Smith, who was previously the projectionist at The Savoy Cinema in Penzance, ran the business with his wife and sister-in-law for many years.

Over the Years it has had several names including Botas from around 1990 to 1997, when the name changed to Captain’s Bar.

The present owners Bill and Margaret Hiscott are proud to be upholding the fine tradition of the restaurants heritage serving good honest food, locally sourced with a conscience for the environment. Captain’s is just a great PLAICE to call when hunger is Trawling you in.
