Review this restaurant

Proprietor: The Trelowarren Estate

Head Chef: Oliver Jackson

At the New Yard Restaurant we take care in selecting only the finest, local, seasonal produce and ingredients, and spring time is abundant in local harvest.

Our boys in the kitchen start the day making a selection of bread and we honour it with delicious Rodda's butter. Chris grows and supplies us with root vegetables from his farm on the Lizard Peninsula.

Greg, out at Cusgarne Farm near Bissoe, supplies us with most of our other organic vegetables. The Pacific and Native oysters, when available, come from the Cornish Mussel Company in Gweek and Liz provides us with hand dived scallops from around the Cornish coast.

Dylan and his father Chris (Kernowsashimi) drops fish off to the back door from their three day boats, along with hand pick crab. Paul of J.Retallack & Sons, St.Kevern, is one of our main butchers.

Sally at Primrose Herd near Redruth, provides award winning pork, bacon and sausages from traditionally reared Gloucester Old Spot pigs.

The milk and cream that we use to make your delicious desserts and ice creams come from Gwavas Jersey Dairy in Ruan Minor.

We personally select cheese from two local dairy farmers: traditional Cornish farmhouse cheeses from Menallack Farm, Treverva and Helford White and Blue Horizion from British Cheese award winner 2010, Alistair and Bernadette at Treveador Farm Dairy, St.Martin.

Alan, the Estate's game keeper, collects eggs from his very free range chickens. Of course, when the wild garlic is flourishing you can find the chefs out gathering armfuls from the Estates grounds.

With all these great suppliers I'm sure you'll take as much pleasure from the menu as I did sourcing and creating it....Olly Jackson Head Chef
