Here at Henlys, we aim to provide top quality food and service but without the expense.
Our culinary team in the restaurant have created a bistro style menu for the evenings, and lighter bites, such as salads and sandwiches for the lunchtime service.
With all the dishes we serve at Henlys, our ingredients are locally sourced, and even grown on our allotments where seasonally possible.
Our meat dishes, including our Henlys burgers and House sausage, have all been provided by Helstons’ family run butchers, Olivers. And our fish, provided by Quayside fishmongers of Porthleven.

Our talented kitchen team is headed by Gareth Saddler and supported by Karen and Karl. Gareth’s style of cooking has been formed from his passion for food and travel; he spent a number of years working in France and has travelled extensively across Europe and beyond. Gareth’s experiences overseas have led to him having a very flexible and versatile approach in the kitchen and our open kitchen gives you the perfect opportunity to watch his calm manner and creative flair in action.
One of the things a chef needs most is great produce and we are fortunate to have a raft of great suppliers on our doorstep:
Oliver’s of Helston – for quality fresh meat, cured meats and champagne
Celtic Fish and Game, St Ives – for spanking fresh fish
DS Hendy, Helston – for fruit and vegetables
In addition to that we have our very own supply of ‘home-grown’ produce from our ½ acre allotment. Under Ronnie’s watchful eye beans, peas, marrows, potatoes, beets and more are nurtured in an organic-style environment, without pesticides or sprays. When we put ‘seasonal vegetables’ on the menu – it’s not because we are being vague it’s because we never know quite what veggies Ronnie will appear with!
Ronnie also looks after David’s two Gloucester Old Spot pigs; the start of a plan to have our own hand-reared pork on the menu, and even give Gareth a go at curing his own meats.
Our menu has been put together to create balanced, well thought out dishes, however, as all our dishes are cooked to order they can be made more simple or ‘tweaked’ to your taste.
We are happy to cater for special diets and hope you appreciate that a little notice in these situations gives us time to give you more options
