Review this restaurant

Proprietor: Bev and Tim Mackenzie

Head Chef: Pete and Tim are your chefs, Bev is your cake and pastry exp

Entering Provedore is like stepping into a different country, the smell of good coffee and fresh bread from the local bakery is complemented by great bunches of Chillis and Garlic hanging from the ceiling alongside the giant Paella pans which are used both in the cafe and for catering special events.

There is very comfortable cushioned seating throughout, soft jazz plays, locals chat and the owners are very much present discussing the catch of the day from Newlyn and what the daily special will be.

Provedore is very much a fiesta of food, colour and relaxation. They are also licenced, so as well as sipping good coffee made properly there is also a selection of continental beers and interesting wine from Spain and Sicily on offer.

Further Details

Provedore offer a deli service so ciabattas etc can be taken away to eat, they are very well known for their Paella nights both in house and privately catered and to this end have Paella pans that can cater from fifty all the way up to two hundred.

Tim is energetic and passionate about local seafood, and will always rise to the challenge of creating an interesting dish to accomodate what the Newlyn fishermen land, everything from sea urchin to cuttlefish and local octopus appear on his specials board as well as old favourites like Sea Bass and Cornish Mackerel.

His food interest doesn't stop in Spain and often dishes with a Morrocan or similarly North African flavour will appear on the menu, as his passion is for the mediterranean rim style of cooking, exciting and colourful and always fresh, fresh, fresh.

To find out what Tim and Bev are doing give them a call, the menu changes with the catch, so it is worth finding out what the special is, otherwise their is a huge array of delicious breads and tapas type foods to choose from too, as well as the tempting home made cakes and pastries that are Bevs speciality.
