5 Degrees West is a very family friendly pub that serves a wide menu suitable for all kinds of dining from the smaller ‘lite bites’ through our ‘sharing platers’ right up to the more traditional main meal.
We serve food from 12noon till 10pm throughout the year, and generally there is no need to book, except for the usual popular dates when it is advisable to do so.
We have a good range of food suitable for vegetarians and should you have any specific dietry requirements we will do our best to accommodate you.
We try and source our food locally where possible and all our food is prepared on the premises.

As we are one of the largest dining venues in the town we lend ourselves well to bigger parties and can easily accommodate parties of 20 or 30 or more, with flexible seating and dining arrangements.
5 Degrees West is an award winning bar restaurant, situated in a terraced building in Grove Place .
Built on split levels,the bar restaurant area has a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for unwinding with a drink and fabulous meal at the end of a stressful day. Business people find it a perfect venue for a working lunch, especially as it is equipped with Wifi. Students from the University can finish an assignment, off campus and have the meal they have not got the time or inclination to cook .
Dogs are always welcome in 5 Degrees West, and we have water bowls dotted around inside and out. If you spot any empty bowls, please let us know!
