The Crown Inn is the quintessential Cornish country pub.

You will be guaranteed a warm welcome and you can be assured of great food, tiptop real ales and a great selection of wines. The Crown Inn makes a perfect base for exploring the local attractions such as Lanhydrock House, The Eden Project or the historic harbour town of Fowey.

There are four stylish rooms -available year round for bed & breakfast - that have been completely redecorated and refurbished over the last 2 years. A further five completely new rooms are now also available. All rooms offer a taste of contemporary Cornwall while retaining the distinct character of The Crown Inn.

The Crown Inn oozes charm and has a wealth of features you would expect in a historic country pub. Low beamed ceilings, open fireplaces, thick stone walls and a great atmosphere. There is no piped music here – just a pub, as it should be!

The restaurant is non-smoking and a great place to enjoy some fine Cornish fayre. For the historian amongst you, there is a rather unique bread oven beside the old fireplace in the main bar, which is unusually large and lined with granite – take a peek inside

The pub is only a few miles from the harbour of Fowey and therefore fresh fish features prominently on the daily specials blackboard. But there is something for all tastes on the menu, which features the very best of Cornish produce, expertly cooked by our talented chefs.

For starters there is a beautifully made local ham hock & leek terrine or why not try our quite superb mini Fowey crab cakes with the most delicious cauliflower puree & some truffle oil to finish. For the main course, you could choose the best cooked fish & chips in Cornwall or our famous homemade traditional faggots with root vegetable puree and garden peas.

Tender local beef, braised in Guinness is always popular or one of the fabulous steaks from genuine Cornish herds which are cooked to perfection and unbelievably juicy & tender.

The desserts are quite stunning just to look at, let alone eat, but the warm chocolate fondant has proven an absolute winner with our regular customers.

There is always a great selection of Cornish real ales available from Sharps, Skinners or one of the many fine Cornish microbreweries. There are seven wines by the glass and an extensive wine list, which is very reasonably priced.

The tranquil beer garden in front of the pub is one of the prettiest in Cornwall and a great place to relax and spend an afternoon with a nice glass of Pimms………….
