Proper cooking from a well known chef of some 25 years experience Alverne continues to impress with its individual menu and great fresh fish. The décor is warm and inviting just like the food. Modern British dishes and Tapas like like Grilled Cod Pieces with sweet chilli and passion fruit sauce. In addition to lunch and dinner after work Alverne attracts those in need of a weekend lift with a few nibbles before heading home. Excellent local Cornish ingredients are treated with care and confident skill by a very experienced chef. A welcome edition to the Penzance dining scene.

A special menu features lots of tapas and mains. Dinner from 6pm offers a tapas selection of some 15 strong sit next to a more traditional British menu. The decor is warm and modern, a great place to stop after work for just a glass of wine or sherry and some salted Morocan almonds and Gordel olives. |
